The 2012-2013 season
In total, ROK gave fifty-one performances throughout South-Central Indiana and Missouri for our 2012-2013 Season! These performances included thirty K-12 schools, five community centers, and one hospital. Our first-ever commission, Mooch the Magnificent, was presented thirty-four times last year with the support of the New Frontiers grant, and is now published by Theodore Presser. We hit the road for the first time for an opera tour of north-central Missouri and we were featured on WFIU, KTTN, and in the Bloomington Herald Times. We reached 501(c)(3) non-profit status in April and received a host of new grants and support from local community groups in Indiana and Missouri. ROK also became an official community partner for the Office of Service Learning at Indiana University, and will be working with a service-learning course associated with the Jacobs School of Music, beginning fall 2013. This expansion led to a record for us: ROK performed for close to 7,500 students during the 2012-2013 school year!
